AutoTax AI is a software tool that assists with the preparation of U.S. federal and state income tax returns. AutoTax AI is not a certified public accountant (CPA), enrolled agent (EA), or licensed tax advisor. The service uses artificial intelligence to extract data from tax documents and perform calculations based on IRS tax rules.

2. User Responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your tax return.
• You must review all AI-extracted data and calculations before filing.
• You are responsible for signing, printing, and mailing your tax return to the IRS.
• You must provide truthful and accurate information.
• You are responsible for filing your return by the applicable deadline.

3. Limitation of Liability

AutoTax AI provides tax preparation assistance on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy of AI-extracted data or tax calculations. In no event shall AutoTax AI be liable for:

• Errors or inaccuracies in your tax return resulting from incorrect data extraction.
• Penalties, interest, or additional taxes assessed by the IRS or state tax authorities.
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service ($9.99).

4. Payment & Refund Policy

• The service fee is $9.99 per tax return (one-time payment).
• Payment is processed securely via Stripe.
• If you are unsatisfied with the service, contact us within 30 days for a full refund.
• Refund requests should be sent to support@self-tax.com.

5. Intellectual Property

Your tax documents and personal data remain your property. Generated tax returns are provided for your personal use. The AutoTax AI software, design, and branding are owned by AutoTax AI.

6. Prohibited Uses

• Preparing tax returns for others without proper authorization.
• Submitting fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate tax information.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer or exploit the AI extraction system.
• Using the service for any illegal purpose.

7. Disclaimer

Important: AutoTax AI is a software tool, not a tax advisor. For complex tax situations including but not limited to: business income, rental properties, foreign income, cryptocurrency, estate planning, or audit representation, please consult a qualified tax professional.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Massachusetts.
